Be Aromatic has been dedicated to the production and commercialization of aromatic and medicinal herbs, honey and olive oil in organic production since 2013.
With 3 hectares of planted area, the fields of Quinta dos Choupos in Évora, include a diversified offer that supplies the market with fresh and dry herbs. They also have the privilege of being able to enjoy a century-old olive grove, which allows them to produce a monovarietal olive oil of the Galician variety, an indigenous species from the Alentejo, which must be protected and promoted.
As a fundamental and primordial piece for any type of agriculture that wants to be balanced and sustainable, they also have a small apiary, which provides a unique honey, the result of the farm’s diversified floral offer.
Be Aromatic works almost all stages of the process manually, thus ensuring excellent product quality and control. At harvesting, drying and subsequently packaging, the product is handled with great care and rigor so that it maintains all its characteristics and properties.
Here you can also find honey from the montesinho mountain range, one of the best Medrono spirit and artisanal liqueurs.
The products are sold mainly to the gourmet market, in stores, hotels and restaurants, in Portugal and the rest of the world.
Naturally developed from Be Aromatic, the book SAL VERDE, introduces more than 20 aromatic herbs, in more than 100 recipes, practical and flavor guaranteed. The SAL VERDE book is more than a recipe book – it is a herbarium, which renews and strengthens the use of aromatic herbs as a reflection of a wise and healthier cuisine.
Created by Rute Porto and with the beautiful photography by Kerry Murray, it’s available in the Be Aromatic online store.
