Herdade do Freixo do Meio

Herdade do Freixo do Meio is a project started in 1990, in an Alentejo farm near Montemor-o-Novo.
The brand Freixo do Meio distinguishes itself by offering more than 300 biological products produced, processed and distributed by a single institution. A short and personalized, yet complete and efficient chain provides unparalleled accountability and food safety.
The ancestral agro-ecosystem of the Montado was enriched by the current views of agroecology (organic farming, biodynamic and natural in all areas and processes), permaculture and food sovereignty. There is a focus on efficiency in processes, waste reduction and the ecological footprint, as well as on economic sustainability along with the effective practice of appropriate social and environmental policies.
Orders can be done in the online shop, or in the brick and mortar stores in Herdade do Freixo do Meio and in Mercado da Ribeira (Lisbon). All products are certified in organic production mode, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options.
